July 8 - Lima Love
I love the letter this week! Also Happy Birthday Mom and Will! I love you guys a lot!!!
I hope all the Thompson family is ok! That´s cool to hear a little bit of the family history from that side. When people ask me here in Perú I always tell them that my family on my Dad´s side are members since forever, but on my Mom´s side my grandparents are converts. That´s correct right? There´s a cool part of the church here that most people here are converts. It´s really cool because it means that everybody has their own story of how they got to know the church.
We´ve seen some good things this week! We met this week Diana and her son James. They were investigating the church about two years ago but stopped because she began to work on Sunday. Recently she stopped studying to dedicate more time to her son. We visited her and invited her to church on Sunday. She said she was going to go alone (which usually is Peruvian code that they are not going to come) and so when we got to church I started calling her to she if she was gonna come and surprise, she comes running out of the chapel to answer her phone! Best moment of my life.
Also this week we had interviews with President Packard, he is a great man and is going to do really good as the new mission President. I´m going to have a last interview with him as well before leaving.
I know that God answers prayers! As we talked with a convert this week she told us about how she has gone through some hard things this week, mainly that her family has been asking her why she joined the church and been making fun of her. She told us the same thing that she told them. That I´m not confused, I see more clearly now than I ever saw before. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings light into my life. Light that casts out all darkness. I love what I´m doing here and I don´t want to stop.
