I Love Lima
Happy to hear from you guys!
Here on my end things have been a little slow, we have been looking and contacting to find new investigators, but with little success. I´ve been feeling a little down along with my companion Elder Monteiro. Diana and her son James did not come to church this week. We had very few people who had committed to come to church this Sunday. On Sunday in the morning we made the decision to put our trust in God, we asked him that he would put someone in our path who was prepared to receive the gospel so we could contact them and invite them to church. The whole way to church we contacted people, but to little avail. When we got to church we found that there was already a family that had brought their son who is not a member. That helped me realized that God is ready to do his part, He just needs to see our efforts.
That´s also how we have been operating here in our zone. We have had an increased focus on praying over all the things we do like it says in the Book of Mormon:
But behold, I say unto you that ye must apray always, and not faint; that ye must not perform any thing unto the Lord save in the first place ye shall bpray unto the Father in the cname of Christ, that he will dconsecrate thy performance unto thee, that thy performance may be for the ewelfare of thy soul.
Praying to confirm what we are doing really is inspired of God is an extra motivator and really for me increases my own confidence in God and his plan.
This week we had another opportunity to get to know our new mission President and his wife with our zone conference. They are awesome, they also love singing and playing the piano and they taught us a song that we sang all together. It´s awesome because it really creates a sense of family between missionaries.
Apart from that, I´ve been learning a bit of porteguese from my companion - I have a Book of Mormon in portugese now, weird to think that I´m learning a language using spanish as a base - really weird. But when I think about it my companion has it harder because he has to learn 2 languages - engilsh and spanish.
I love you guys a lot!!! I´ll send some photos in a little bit
