Lima Loop
This week has been a solid one for us, we had zone conference with President Godfrey and Hermana Godfrey, they taught us a lot of good stuff. Including they talked a ton about BYU pathways, it´s a really cool program for Latino missionaries so that they can study in BYUIdaho online. Also it´s availible for all returned missionaries so really cool. They also taught us a little bit more about really reaching our potential in the mission. Something Elder Bednar talked about when he came last week. He talked about the temptation from the adversary to ´´do it for you´´ to be a natural man. The character of Christ is to turn out, to focus on other people. That´s where the joy really comes in.
This week I´ve felt that, we have been meeting with two investigators who are reading faithfully the Book of Mormon and have received a testimony, although it may be weak, that it is true. One part where we´ve struggled is to help people recognize and act upon these promptings from the Spirit. That´s where it helps to be focused on them, really get to know these people, what is it that they want to achieve in life, and adjust our lessons to meet their needs. When we do it efectively it feels awesome because we also need to act by the Spirit in order to plan these lessons and ask the right questions at the right time. Elder Bednar also talked about that, he said we need to ´´get out of the way´´ of the Holy Ghost when we teach. And really in any point of our lives when we focus on other people more than ourselves it´s really hard to not be happy.
Right now my focus is on enjoying every part of my mission in the time I have left. One great part is our recent converts - the dude who looked really mad in his baptism. He has a son named Aldo who has down syndrome. He is 20 years old and does so much funny stuff. We caught him on Sunday after church trying to flirt, also with a bunch of random papers he had collected with the afirmation that he was going to ´´study´´. He´s a legend.
Anyways, I love you guys a lot!
