Lima Leaf

It´s been getting colder here and has been constantly ´´raining´´ here. It´s less like rain and more like a sprinkle. But the fun part is that all the dirt converts into mud.

This week we had a great experience with Johan´s baptism - he has been progressing so much and really has come to understand the Gospel a lot better. On Saturday he got baptized and invited all his family to participate, including his older sister Carmen who we are also teaching. I´ve seen a change in Johan´s attitude in these weeks that we´ve taught him. And when we visit him he continually talks about how he is happy.

That´s what I´ve had a chance to reflect about in this week. We are still teaching two YSA aged guys named Edson and Warghoner (fun name I know right) Edson has been doing really well and has come to church two times now and is reading the Book of Mormon. Warghoner on the other hand has a lot of doubts. To help him out we brought him the Bishop´s counselor who also was agnostic before becoming a member of the church. They were able to have an extended discussion and while they were talking I just felt the happiness that came from the Bishop´s counselor and I felt the disatisfaction that Warghoner was feeling. I have a testimony that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only way to true and lasting happiness.

Also on Sunday we have this investigator that is cool, but kind of weird sometimes. His name is Wilber - on sunday he came to church and I was sitting beside him. It just so happened that it was Johan´s confirmation. As he went up to get confirmed Wilber asks me ´´he got baptized?´´ and I said ´´yeah he got baptized yesterday and now he´s going to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost´´ then Wilber just says ´´he beat me´´. I had to try not to laugh during sacrament meeting. This same dude also started messaging us on whatsapp during sacrament meeting - except that I was sitting right beside him. Great guy.
