Lima Life
I like the focus on making Christ the centre of our lives - for me it´s still something I have to m ake an effort to recognize in my life. Because there are so many things that are easy to say are coincedences and that just happen. But it´s purposefully realizing that Christ plays an active part in our everyday lives that helps me to think how can I be more like him. How can I improve my life and progress and be what my Heavenly Father wants me to be? I think that´s the question we always need to ask.
I also like your article Mama! Seeing that photo on the newsroom makes it look like our family is famous haha. We had a week of ups and downs but over all a pretty crazy week. The great part was that we had an investigator n amed Enrique who we have been teaching the last couple weeks who we had invited to be baptized this week and he accepted! Then he had to travel for work purposes and we lost contact for about a week. WWe restablished contact on thursday and had a lesson in the Bishops house. He told us that he had been reading the Book of Mormon and still wanted to be baptized that saturday! We were obviously super happy and h onestly the ward did most of the preparat ion so that he could be baptized on saturday after the adult session. So he showed up and got changed and the conference ended and who walks out but President Godfrey and his wife. That was the first time in my mission that I´ve had President Godfrey meet one of my investigators before he gets baptized. Then his baptism went by, it was a really special experience. The next day he went to stake conference early because there was a special session for recent converts.
The other part of this week has been interviews with President Godfrey which was a good check-in, also a lot of opportunities to teach and contact with Elder Rodriguez - he is learning and progressing really fast. We always have some good experiences together including that I found out he has a secret talent - which is throwing cards he does with such incredible accuracy it´s so funny. But we´ve had some good experiences this week lncluding another investigator that expressed a desire to be baptized, his name is Juan Carlos. We´ve also been on the hunt for new people to teach. In that we find so many people from different Christian backgrounds including a guy from Venezuela who tried to talk to us for an hour about how the sabbath day should be saturday. Its a good and a bad thing sometimes when there are a lot of Chirstian churches here.
The important is that Peru is progressing, the work is advancing and I am loving it. Everyday there is a new reason to love Peruvian people. I love you guys a lot!
