Lima Leaf
I feel the weeks are flying by as well - it still blows my mind when people ask me how much time I have in the mission.
Our week here has been super busy - as usual. We started the week with a zone conference with President Godfrey - I made it right in the centre of the photo. But we learned a lot of stuff it was really good. President Godfrey talked to us about grace - and challenged us what Elder Bednar challenged. To replace the word ´´grace´´ in the scriptures with ´´the enabling power of the atonement´´ Jesus Christ´s sacrifice is something so big, yet there is a way that it operates personally in each person´s life. I learn to rely more upon that power as I do the things my leaders tell me, and work to have more faith in Jesus Christ. He is the Savior and Redeemer of the world and I have the privilege to serve as his representative for two years.
Apart from that we also worked this week with the assistents and our zone leaders to improve the way we teach. Elder Rodriguez is learning a ton - he´s a great missionary. I also did a companion exchange this thursday with Elder Cosentino - who is now my zone leader. He was my companion so it´s always familiar working with him. But at the end of the day we ended up doing divisions that day so I didn´t see him for pretty much the most of the day. But he´s great - we managed to convince someone that Canada is a province of the United States and then an investigator told us that he is interested in cockfights (which happen a lot here in Lima) and Elder Cosentino convinced him that in Canada there are illegal penguin fights. It´s great.
At the end of the week we had Gloria and Angelina´s baptism. That was a very sweet experience, they are so humble and so willing to follow the commandments. They were confirmed on Sunday and it was awesome to see the change in Gloria´s countenance. She was very happy, she never was very educated and has a limited understanding of things. But her testimony after her baptism was very sincere.
There´s a lot of stuff going on here, I forgot my cable today but next week there should be more photos. Tomorrow are tranfers but I´ll probably be staying to finish Elder Rodriguez training.
