Peru People - Dec 30

Hola mi family!!!

Hope you guys are having a good time down in St.George! Looks chilly haha! Lots of fun talking to you guys! The work continues down here in Peru. 

To start off, why does the cat say meow? Because the cat can´t say ´´Woooow´´. A kid from the primary told me that joke the other day and it made me crack up I don´t know why. There are so many little things about Peruvian people that are so funny, lncluding the other day we were talking with somebody I don´t remember I think it was a contact and I told them I was from Canada and she was like ´´But all the Canadians are fat, why are you so skinny?´´ and I was trying not to laugh as I explained that not all Canadians are fat. Another guy we contacted told us he wasn´t interested and as we were walking away he called us back like hey amigo Canadiense and I go back and he´s like ´´hey, why did Canada steal the Peruvian flag?´´ and his question was so serious that I started laughing and explained that it´s our flag because of the maple leaf. Just a few weird experiences this week.

Also this we have been meeting with a family who we found a couple weeks ago, they´re a couple with four kids who are not married, Cristian and Aracely, also recently her sister Julia came and started listening as well. On Friday we had an appoitment with them but that day we were in divisions and I was with Luis - our convert who recently received the Priesthood. Luis and I got there and Luis bore his testimony, we were then talking about the sacrament to invite them to church (because they hadn´t been to church yet) and Aracely asks me ´´what do we need to do to be baptized?´´ we felt th spirit and I invited them to talk about their marriage and pray together as a couple. They both felt that they should get married. That really was a miracle becuase when we found them they were about to get seperated. Aracely and Julia came to church on Sunday and Cristian is going to come next week.

The mission is such a rewarding experience, there is literally no other time that I have the chance to dedicate all my time to serving the Lord. I know that the Lord is directing his work. President Godfrey has been called and inspired by God and there are people being prepared here in Lima North to receive the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Tomorrow are transfers, so I´ll find out if I´m getting a new companion. But man there is so muchstuff to look forward to this new year I´m excited. I love you guys a lot, happy new year!
