Lima Love - Dec 3
This week was another crazy week - we started off with mission leadership council on Wednesday - that was an interesting experience because President Godfrey instead of training invited us to make our own plan. He left the room with Hermana Godfrey and said we should call him to present the plan we had made for the mission. We were in the room for a grand total of three hours but we made a plan for the mission. That was definitely a learning experience I can tell you.
Going through the week we got a chance to meet with Manuel, an investigator who is 17 years old. He had been investigating the church for about a month before I came - and had come to church a few times and accepted an invitation to be baptized with his older brother. Unfortunately his parents are seperated and his Dad discouraged him from joining the church. We visited him this week and he had read Alma 7 - all about repentance and baptism. We talked with him if he felt the Book of Mormon and the church are true and he said yes. So I told him that if he knows that and is willing to keep the commandments then it doesn´t matter. He accepted a baptismal date for this saturday!
As well this week we went to one of the areas in our zone -Famesa which is about 30 mins away to help them find new investigators. We brought the zone and divided up the area and went contacting. I was with Elder Robles from Mexico who is recently starting his mission. We went contacting for about and hour and a half and were going up and down a hill. Finally when we were going back a tiny dog comes along and bites Elder Robles in the ankle! Haha I was laughing so much but Elder Robles actually has to go and get a rabies shot today so I feel kind of bad. But he was a champ and kept contacting and we found some good people!
Anyways, on Saturday we saw Luis´ baptism! He was super ready - we´re already planning to visit the temple with him. It was a spiritual experience.
Luis Baptism! Also my new companion Elder Mendez
