Lima LOVE

Congratulations Coleman and Sara!!!! Love you a lot!!

Sad I couldn´t be there but I love the photos, thanks for sending those Mama! What an awesome day - tell Coleman I love him!

Wow I had quite a week - It started out on Tuesday when we had interviews with President Godfrey. So we were in the chapel all morning helping the missionaries to get their interviews done. As well Sister Godfrey was there and she offered to drive us back to our room as we were carrying a giant whiteboard we had asked for. As we got back I asked Sister Godfrey if she would be doing room inspections like she normally does. She told us ´´no, not today´´ then added ´´but I can check your room right now!´´ haha luckily our room was clean or I would have been toast.

Then Wednesday in the morning we went to the mission offices to practice for a choir that sang for the prophet. I unfortunately was a little sick so couldn´t sing for the prophet but my companion played the piano. So we were over there all morning - then in the afternoon we did a companionship exchange and I had the opportunity to go with Elder Koontz (From Utah) and get to know his investigator Vanessa who was baptized on Saturday. She expressed her testimony and it was a sweet experience.

Then on Friday the choir praticed again in front of President Godfrey and he gave the green light to keep the arrangement. The choir sang ´´I need thee every hour´´ it was really good. Then in the afternoon I had another companionship exchange with Elder Miller (from Hawaii) to know his investigator Maria who is going to be baptized next week! Also a sweet experience. We had to teach very carefully about the law of tithing as she had a few doubts. A lot of people have seen churches here that ask tithing for the wrong purpose and so have a lot of doubts when it comes to the matter. But nevertheless she is preparing for her baptism this next week.

Obviously the highlight of this week was Saturday, in the morning we all got in a bus and went to the centre of Lima, we ate lunch in a park and we took a photo or our CCM district. Then we all went to the chapel to wait for President Nelson. Wow it really was a surreal experience seeing the prophet just there sitting on the stand. He mentioned that it would probably be the only time we would be in the presence of the President of the church, a member of the quorum of the Twelve and the entire area presidency in our lives.

Elder Stevenson talked to us a lot about obedience and the blessings it brings - he also talked about how precious a resource Preach my Gospel is - he promised us that if we promise blessings it will help bring our investigators closer to baptism and eternal progession. Sister Nelson talked about adversity - that the fight with sin is real. And took an example from the opposition she and President Nelson faced while preparing their talk for the worldwide youth deovtional. President Nelson talked about 3rd Nephi - about how it mentions repentance 24 times in that book. He also said that our investigators have ancestors who are praying for us to teach them so that they can be baptized. I learned and could see for myself that this man is a living prophet - I know because I felt it!

An interesting talk was the talk that Sister Nelson gave in the Peru-wide devotional in the evening. She talked about what has changed in their family since her husband was called as a prophet. She described experiences in which her husband will get up in the middle of the night and start writing on a pad of paper. She also mentioned that at times she feels that she should get out of bed in the middle of the night. When she rises and goes to work on a few things her husband emerges from the bedroom to tell her that he has received instruction from the Lord on a certain thing. President Russell M. Nelson is receiving modern revelation for our day. What an exciting time!

I love you guys a lot!!!!
