Lima Loaf

How´s it going? Oh my gosh that´s awesome that Joshua´s going to Argentina - we´re all going to be able to speak Spanish when we get back! How crazy it that? Also I heard that Pentatonix got a new bass - but sad because Avi was me. Anyways, are Coleman and Sara going to go travel? But Coleman probably needs to go to school right?

This week was an awesome week! We had a couple things that happened, but the first one is that my companion got super sick this weekend - on Sunday he was so bad that he had to stay with a member while I went proselyting with a returned missionary who served in Bolivia - it was interesting because he knew how to do everything like contact and teach lessons. I also asked him a ton about his mission in Bolivia and was able to learn a few things!

I liked this week because we got a chance to be here with our zone and working with the missionaries. On Monday my companion left the area to go on a companionship exchange and I was with Elder Anhder from Logan, Utah - he is new in the mission! That was fun being with a new missionary who does not speak the language quite yet. I really wanted to help him get motivated to learn and keep learning Spanish. He is going to do really well I think.

As well this week we have been working with a couple people - one of them is a family - Erika, her partner Yohnny and her daughter Milagros. Erika was a single Mom with three kids until she met Yohnny who is an ex-member of the military who can´t read or write. They are super humble and accept everything we present them. Erika has been going through some tough times economically and is right now looking for a job. Milagros is Erika´s 19 year old daughter who is pretty much just as humble as her. She told us that she had had experience with the church before because one of her childhood friends was a member (although never invited her) and she has always wanted to be part of a religion. Milagros is also going to visit her uncle who lives in Japan for a month in December. They are super awesome and Erika and Yohnny have been coming to church. Only Milagros hasn´t come yet.

Also I had my birthday on Thursday, I think the pics speak for themselves but nevertheless the cake was super delicious. That´s also a tradition in Peru is that you take a bite out of the cake after they sing happy birthday. It´s a good time. Also when we went to teach Erika it turned out that her 6 year old daughter had her birthday the day before mine - they saked me when my birthday was and I just told them ´´very soon´´ and my companion speaks up and says ´´it´s tomorrow!´´ well long story short Erika´s 6 year old daughter remembered my birthday and when we went to teach her the next day had kept a piece of cake for me! That was the cutest thing!

Things are exciting here in Peru! Milagros accepted the invitation to be baptized in November so we will be working a lot with her this month. I know that this is the true church. Everytime I share that with other people it helps me fortify my own testimony of these things. Doubts are tools of the adversary to stop us from progressing. I know that with faith in Jesus Christ everything is possible.

I love you guys!

We´ll buy you a cake they said
