Lima Legends

Hola Familia!

Whhhats up? Sounds like an awesome week - I love those classic Canadian views. I love to show people the snow in Canada because they always get so surprised.

So this week I did end up getting transferred - I said goodbye to Elder Chuqui because I am now on the other side of the mission again and my new companion is Elder Pallmay, I´ve been called to serve as a zone leader - that was a bit of a surprise. But the good part is Elder Pallmay and I were already together in the same ward for three months - I saw him basically everyday. So I already know him pretty well so there´s not much to get used to there. But the funny part is that Elder Pallmay is also from Quito, Ecuador and is from the same stake as Elder Chuqui! But he´s awesome I´m confident we´ll do just fine for the time we have together.

But anyways that made this week a little bit of a crazy one! On monday I was with Elder Chuqui proselyting and said goodbye to a few families. On Tuesday I took a bus from where I was down to the other side of the mission in Canto Grande the zone´s called. It´s actually pretty close to my old area in Magnolias. My area here is a lot smaller and reminds me more of my first area but it´s a richer part of the mission.

Wednesday we had to go to mission council in the mission offices which was really cool, I learned a lot about what I need to do as a zone leader and how I can help missionaries reach their goals. As well we had another training for new leaders on friday which was also really good - so we were in the mission offices a lot this week. I´m a little nervous but excited moving forward to help the Lord´s work in whatever way I can. I like what you said Dad, watching people and investigators impliment changes in their lives has been a huge testimony builder. Including this week I had an opportunity to do my first baptismal interview. That was awesome to see someone who has made changes and is willing to follow Jesus Christ and be baptized. I know that it is the only way by which we can be saved.

Also Elder Pallmay and his previous companion had been preparing a family to be baptized. We were able to make all the final arrangements so that Carmen, Maria Fernanda and Jose Eduardo could be baptized on saturday in the morning. What a sweet experience with an awesome family. As well this week we have been contacting people like crazy. One day while Elder Pallmay was contacting a family I saw a woman passing and felt like I should contact her as well. Her name is Zoraida and she accepted us in her home, she told us that she´s been divorced nine years and because of some recent health problems is looking more for God in her life. We invited her to church on Sunday and she came with us to sacrament meeting. We´ll see how that goes this week.

Anyways I hope you guys are doing awesome! Let me know how school goes and how the wedding prep goes!

Love you guys a lot,
Elder Thompson
