Lima Lads

Hola Familia!

How`s it going? Thanks for the encouraging about costa vida mama - but it turns out there`s actually a mexican restuarant in our zone! So I`ve still got a chance to have some burritos and tacos. But one thing that is awesome that doesn`t exist in Peru are free refills - I miss free refills. But Peru makes up for it because here they have a soda called Inka Cola thatr is bascially like a cream soda and bubblegum flavor and it`s super tasty.

This week to be honest has been a little hard. We have been working and contacting people but overall we are spending time in the streets looking for people to teach. It`s been a good exercise in faith and we contact people in the streets. And of course contacting we always we some interesting people and learn new things. For example we were looking for a house of somebody we had contacted the day before and set a return appointment. We knocked on the door and it turns out he doesn`t live there but we did meet a lady who told us the about 4-5 years ago the sister missionaries lived in her house! She had gone to church a couple times and told us she thought of the sisters as her two older daughters. Super sweet but in the end told us that I can`t be Mormon.

We did get the chance to receive President Godfrey in our district meeting this week. He really uplifted the zone talking about Captain Moroni and his strategies. One thing he hightlighted was that a point in the Book of Mormon when Moroni had to help Pahoran fight against dissendent Nephites. Moroni left part of his army to defend against the Lamanites and went with a small group of men to help Pahoran. In spite of their small numbers they reconquered the city of Zarahemla and restored Pahoran in the judgement seat. We may have small number here in the mission but we have God as our companion. He will never leave us alone. We have the ability to have success if we strive to be like Moroni. Always having our own title of liberty written in our minds and hearts.

Anyways, I love you guys a lot! Tell Livs and Will that I love them too - I hope Livs is having an awesome time in high school,

Elder Thompson

(My camera is fully functional again but there doesn`t seem to be a way to send photos from this computer - so next week haha!)
