Lima Legacy
This week we have seen a couple awesome things happening, the first was Josselyn. Last week she came to church and this week we have kept meeting with her. She is JAS (YSA) age and so it is super easy here to invite members to be a part of the lesson with her. She told us this week that when she prayed that she felt peace and paused for a minute and said ´´it´s kind of funny but I felt a desire to go to church, like I was looking forward to it´´. I felt the spirit very strongly there and we invited her to come to church again. She came this Sunday and brought her younger sister too. She is awesome.
As well we had the chance to meet some interesting people, one was a lady from Spain who we met because she was selling cachangas (fried dough). She told us her story that she was living in Spain all chill and she met a Peruvian by social media and decided to sell her house, move to Lima and marry the guy. It did not turn out like she expected and is now working to make her way back to Spain. Loco
Another person we got in contact with this week was a Venezuelan man we contacted a couple weeks ago - we ran into him while we were talking with the lady from Spain. We set an appointment and met with him on Friday. His name is Deiker and he moved from Venezuela about three months ago. He has gone through a ton of trials to be where he is right now and he is working right now so that he bring his daughter to Peru. The trials he told us were crazy, things I can´t imagine having to go through. He also came to church on Sunday and we are going to keep visiting him.
This week we also had interviews with President Godfrey, it was good to talk with him a bit about our area and what´s going on.
Wow this week I hit the one year mark! Crazy to think about, of course I miss you guys a ton, but the more I think about it, the more I feel sure that this is the best place I could be right now. Going on a mission has brought experiences and perspective that I never would have been able to obtain in any other way. I have met countlless people and have had the opportunity to serve them and learn from them. I know that my Heavenly Father called me here to do this work and I am willing and ready to keep serving.
Anyways, I love you guys!
