Lima LIFe
This week I received a new companion! Elder Caicedo left on Monday so I stayed with Elder Borst and Elder Segovia and Tuesday I went to the stake centre to pick up my new companion Elder Castrejón - he is 23 years old, from Chimbote, Peru and right now has 3 months left in his mission. If I stay with him two transfers that would mean I will be his last companion in the mission. Interesting but we´ll see what happens.
Anyways with Elder Castrejón we got to work right away. We have been teaching english classes in the church two times a week. Recently there have been a couple teenagers coming with their parents. This week we starting teaching one of them - they are Josselyn and her mom Maria as well as her cousin Jared. They live literally a block from the chapel so it´s super convenient - but they are super awesome we taught them Friday and Saturday and then they came to church on Sunday. Josselyn has a friend who lives in the other Elder´s area who just got baptized this Saturday. So she went and saw her confirmation on Sunday and she really enjoyed it! We´re going to keep teaching them this week to see how everything goes.
Also this week we met with Carlos and Renzo, and my companion and I felt that we should say a kneeling prayer with them so they could ask if the Book of Mormon is true. Carlos has been telling us that he has felt a desire to come to church and read the Book of Mormon on his own without anybody telling him to do it. He even fasted this last Sunday with his family. When we finished the prayer we asked him how he felt and he said ´´normal´´ but the next day we went back because we had lunch with his family and he was at work. But his wife told us that after we had left he told her that he had felt a burning feeling in his chest. I know the Lord is preparing him little by little. One thing I heard from my Dad and others is that we can trust the things we see with our spiritual eyes much more than the things we see with our natural eyes. That is the testimony I express to the people I teach. I know that it is true.
Anyways, there are new experiences everyday, it´s getting colder here but I am super happy, the only thing missing is snow.
I love you guys!!!!
