Lima Leaving
What´s up! Thanks for sending the photos from Liv´s performance! How did she like it? That´s awesome that so many people went to support her. I love it!
Man talking about beavertails mama - surprisingly there´s actually something they sell in the street here called ´´cachangas´´ which are basically like the fried dough that a beavertail is made from but here you either eat it plain or you add cheese or meat - I haven´t tried it yet but it looks super delicious.
Also Mama I´ll keep an eye out for the packages - let me know when they´re close and I can ask the mission offices if they´ve arrived.
This week is Elder Caicedo´s last week! Later today they are going to pick him up to go to President Godfrey´s house and tomorrow he will fly out to Columbia. We have had a little bit of a crazy week this week as well. On Tuesday we went to the mission offices to have zone conference - and then I had to stay a bit longer because Elder Caicedo had his last interview with President Godfrey. I had to wait outside and chatted with Hermana Godfrey - did you know that President Godfrey was mayor of Ogden before being a mission President? Now that I think about it I think that was in his biography in the mission packet but it´s still pretty cool.
Friday Elder Caicedo had a self-reliance training for almost the whole day so I was with Elder Segovia and Elder Borst in a trio for most of the day helping them out with stuff. And then Sunday was fast and testimony meeting and we both bore our testimonies.
One thing that really helped me out this week was an experience with had with our investigator Carlos. He is Daniella´s dad (Daniella got baptized one week ago) and we went to visit him on Friday. Last week the bishop had given a talk in church about fasting in preperation for this week. Carlos when we went to his house had a lot of questions about fasting and so we taught him and challenged him to fast for a purpose to gain a testimony of fasting. He came to church on Sunday and for the first time stayed for all three hours of church - he asked his work for the day off and even filled out and donated a fast offering. I was super happy to see him putting the principles of the gospel to the test. We asked him afterwards how his fast went and he said it was good.
Tomorrow I will have a new companion but whatever comes I know that I can rely on the Lord
- I know he is there for me and for the people I teach, members and investigators. I am so glad I have been given this time to serve him with all my heart, might, mind and strength.
I love you guys,
Here´s some photos from zone conference - my first companion and Elder Carter from my group. As well this week we went to visit a member and an investigator who live super far away from the chapel - it looks kind of like a ghost town.
