Last Monday's Email

This week, we had a long week but I´ve been working hard with Elder Baldovino! We are working with two investigators that are going to be baptized this coming Saturday - the 28th. They are Analith and Patrick, I´ve talked a little about both of them - Analith is funny because she always has a ton of questions, but her questions are always about stuff she read on the internet and the answer is almost always ´´don´t believe everything you see on the internet´´ but she is learning more and more and is looking forward to her baptism. Patrick has been coming with with to play soccer on Mondays and is also looking forward this week to his baptism.

Tomorrow are transfers! I´ve been here in Magnolias 2 for 4 1/2 months so I might be getting transferred. I hope not because there are a lot of awesome families in this ward! One example is last week we were studying in the morning and we got a call from a member who has been inactive the past year or two who lives near our house. He called to ask us if we could come over to give him a blessing. We went to his house and he told us that he has been inactive because of his work, his family had been coming without him in that time. He recently quit his job and now is starting his own buisness (as is quite common in Lima) that now gives him time to come to church. We shared a message and he shared his testimony with us, it was something simple but yet very strong at the same time, the humility and desire the member showed to be together with his family united in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and especailly be able to come to church and enjoy the blessings that come from taking the sacrament. It reminded me just how much of a blessing it is to participate in that sacred ordinance each Sunday.

I hope you´re feeling better Mama, also tell Livs to have fun - that Quebec trip is a blast. One of the things I get asked a lot is what language do we speak in Canada - Some poeple are surprised when I tell them we speak English. It´s like I didn´t know almost anything about Peru when I came because I live so far away, and likewise the people of Peru don´t know very much about Canada. I have also been asked about 3 times if I live next to Niagara Falls.

Anyways I hope you guys are doing really well - I´ll talk to you next week - also tell the cousins to write me - I haven´t heard from them in a while.

Love you guys,
Elder Thompson
