Hola Familia!
What´s up? Looks super chill there in Fairmont. It´s super weird cause we just came from playing soccer as a zone and we are all super sweaty, and I saw your letter and it´s super snowy. I always show people pictures of the snow in Canada and they are always surprised.
This week was pretty good, this Sunday we had stake conference. We go to church at the stake centre so everyone came to our building. It was my first stake conference as a missionary and it was pretty good! There were talks from President Godfrey and his wife. The first councilor of the temple presidency and his wife and last the stake president spoke.
President Godfrey talked about missionary work and gave the example of Jesus Christ in his ministry how he turned outward constantly and compared it to how in the church there are less-active members and a lot of members have non-member friends. He encouraged everyone to turn outward and look for those people who need the light of the Gospel. The stake President talked about responsabilities of parents, he used a lot of examples from his own life, including how when he was recently married, a ward member came up to him and said ´´so when are you going to have a kid?´´ A year later his first child was born. Later the same ward member asked them when they were going to have their second kid, a year later they had a second child. After that the ward member asked them (so far they had had two sons) when they were going to have their first daughter and of course, a year later they had their daughter. Our stake president is a powerful man and admonished all to care for their children.
Sunday as well one of our investigators we had not been able to meet with all week came to church! His name is Daniel and he is 27 years old. Daniel is studying to be a chef and he is a super chill dude, he loves photography too. We´ve been meeting with him and he has accepted a baptismal date for the 3rd of March. I´m super glad to have met him and so many other people here in Peru.
I have been reading through the latter part of Alma this week in my personal study - the war chapters and it has really impressed me how much the Nephites relied on the Lord for their strength. In almost every chapter where there is a war mentioned it talks about how the Nephite armies prayed and always gave thanks to the Lord in everything they did. I have so much to thank the Lord for in my life. To be here in Peru teaching the Gospel that has helped me so much in my life is a privilege that I will never forget. I know this gospel is true, if you do not know about ther Gospel I invite you to get to know it.
Love you guys
