Peru 2018
Hola Familia!
Happy Birthday Livs! How was your birthday party? Was it chill with your friends?
This week here was really good, I am now in the midst of a Peruvian summer and it is hot, it can get up to like 30 degrees in the afternoon daily. The part that is not so fun is that we have a bunch of hills in our area and we have some investigators that live right at the top of a hill. So whenver we go to their house to teach them a lesson I always arrive super sweaty and gross. I`ve gotten used to it though. And the investigators we are teaching are are really good. Their names are Jose and Gema, they are brother and sister and are 16 and 9. We ran into Jose one day on the hill and Elder Cocentino and I taught him something small and gave him a Book of Mormon to read, since then he has come to church twice with us and is getting ready to e baptized the 27th of January. He likes to rap as well and has shown us two songs that he wrote and recorded on his own.
Also this week I went with Elder Day from Utah and a bunch of other missionaries from my CCM group to migrations and the good news is that our visas are all good! It was nice to see those Elders that I spent 6 weeks in the CCM with.
This week we also had an interesting experience when we went to visit a member because she told us she had some neighbours she wanted us to visit. We went to her house and she took us over to her neighbours house and introduced us to Amanda and Alberto who looked to be in their late 70`s to early 80`s. They both have been suffering from various illnesses for the past couple years and they asked us for a blessing of health. We explained to them about faith and what a blessing consists of. Then my companion gave one blessing and I gave the other. Neither of us mentioned anything in the blessing about them being completely healed. Occasionally our faith is in order to accept the will of the Lord and continue to trust and serve Him until the end.
President Monson passed away this week, I know he was a prophet of God.
This new area is pretty crazy and there are a lot of people that are ready to hear the gospel. My companion is really good at street contacting, one example is he knocked on a door and when they opened said ``¡Hola venimos a compartir la palabra!`` and then proceeded to tell them that I would explain the Restoration of the Gospel in 20 seconds. I did so, we set an appointment to come back for tomorrow. It really surprises me how readily some people accept the missionaries here. There are of course others who don`t want to receive us. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ blesses families, it is because of our Heavenly Father`s plan that we have an opportunity to live with God again in eternal families. Yo soy muy agradecido por mi propia familia y les ama mucho.
Love you guys!

Last week I was on an exchange with Elder Day, part of his area is called ``La Boca del Diablo`` I snagged a photo!
