Lima Loaf

This week had some good moments and some sadder moments. We have been going on divisions this week to cover more ground in our area. Our area is basically one flat part and then the other part is all ´´cerro´´ or hills. We have a couple investigators up in the hills and in the flat part live more of the members and also a couple of investigators. One of the people we always go on visits with is Ricardo. Ricardo is a member from another ward but in his ward there are only sister missionaries. He is 23 years old and his family are all inactive members of the church. He has been going on visits with the missionaries for a couple months. We´re encouraging him to go out on a mission. He is in one of the photos I´ll attach.

We had a really good lesson this week with an investigator. Her name is Lida and she is Miguel´s (who got baptised in December) Mom. We have been visiting her and her partner and yesterday invited her to be baptized. She talked to us about her doubts about baptism, that if she gets baptized and then makes mistakes again after what will happen. We talked about baptism being for the remission of sins and about the sacrament and renewing covenants. She expressed to us the desire to be baptized with her partner. It was a really tender moment. She is living with her partner David right now so we will be working with them so they can get married in February.

One of the sadder moments this week was with Jose, our investigator who had a baptismal date. We talked with his mother this week about him getting baptized. When we first started teaching Jose she had been very supportive. Unfortunately she told us that she does not want Jose to be baptized right now and gave us a couple different reasons. We listened carefully but unfortunately her heart was pretty closed. She was unwilling to offer a prayer to ask of God if this is the correct path for her son. I was saddened after that but I know that Heavenly Father loves his children and if Jose desires, he will have a chance to accept the ordinances of baptism and confirmation.

I love this work, and I am growing to love the people here in Peru. Yo se que este Evangelio es verdadero. Yo se que Dios me ama y ama a todos sus hijos.

Love you guys!
