Anthony did get baptized this week! His baptism was Saturday night at like 9:30, all the YSA from the ward came to support him, theres a photo I attached below.
A little more about Anthony, he is 25 years old and lives on his own. He grew up in our area, San Agustin, and always had friends who were members of the chuch. He was living in a different area when the missionaries contacted him. They had been teaching him for about two weeks when he moved back to our area in San Agustin. He has family here but none of them are members so it makes it hard for him to spend a lot of time with them. From the first time we met Anthony I thought he was already a member because he came to church with a shirt and tie. He has a lot of faith, he has been reading the Book of Mormon page for page and using the footnotes to compare it to the Bible. When we first met him he was a little hesitant to be baptized because he wanted to learn a little more first. We shared Alma 7:14-15 with him espeicially the first part of verse 15 which says
´´Yea, I say unto you come and fear not, and lay aside every sin´´
He accepted the invitation to fear not, and on Saturday was baptized, I really know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God.
What else happened this week? The member whose house we live in - Hermana Valeria - celebrated her birthday this week. Hermana Valeria is awesome, she is essencially a Mom to the missionaries and to a lot of Venezualens that are here in Peru. So for her birthday she invited all of the Venezualens including a family from the ward the familia Farfun for a dinner and cake. They played music from Venezuela and it was super happy.
We also had a ward activity this week, a movie night! We watched a movie called Ephraim´s rescue. It was really good and we had a lot of success with it. Two investigators came including a single Mom with her three kids. It was a good time. I´ll keep writing more details in the weeks to come. I know the church is true!
Ciao! Love you guys!
