4 Months Done!

What´s up? Sounds like your week was really good, this week we have been handing out pass along card for Christmas, Illumina el Mundo! And that´s so cool to see that you guys are doing it too. Keep going until the 25th!

First an update on Antony, he has been going on visits with us like this whole week. He is seriously awesome and is already helping another investigator Jhon we met last week get the know the YSA better.

This week we had a zone conference, three zones got together and we had a conference where President and Hermana Godfrey both spoke and we received training on how to teach and then we had a big Christmas dinner - afterwards we had a little more than an hour to play card games and board games I ended up playing phase 10 which was a little strange but also really fun! We also took some photos and ate cookies which were delicious.

We had some really cool experiences this week so i´ll try to write a few of them. The first was an investigator we are teaching named Jhon - he is 25 years old and from Venezuela. Because of the political situation in Venezuela right now there are a lot of Venezuelans in Lima. But Jhon has been backpacking for a few years in Ecuador and now has come to live and work in Lima because he knows one of the members in our ward. His mom passed away when he was in Venezuela and that has really affected his decisions. The interesting part is that he believes strongly in having good standards - he doesn´t drink or smoke and is always honest when we works. We have been teaching him over the past week and he came to church yesterday. I am really excited to see where these next few weeks go with him.

We also this week were struggling to find some new people to teach, normally during our day we study in the morning after eating breakfast, then have an appointment before lunch. We eat lunch with the members, which usually consists of a combination of rice, potatoes and chicken in one various forms. Then in the afternoon we have language study then we hit the streets are we are in appointments with members or investigators or contacting in the street until 10:00 or 10:30 if we are in an appointment. Then the next day we get up at 7:30 to start again.

But one day this week we were struggling to find new people to teach, so we said a prayer before leaving our apartment that we would we able to find people who were ready to hear the message of the restoration. And in that afternoon we decided to go to visit a family that the missionaries had taught before but had stopped listening. In route to their house we met one person who had met with the missionaries before, another person stopped us in the street to ask us if we could offer a prayer for her. Then when we arrived at the investigators house it turned out she wasn´t home. But we did meet her sister-inlaw who is from Santiago Chile. She told us that she had been looking for a church that she could raise her son in and out of all the churches she found that ours had the values that matched hers the most. She has a sister who is a returned missionary and she came to church with her this Sunday. She is only visiting her family in Lima and is returning to Santiago the 26th. But now is planning to search for the church there.

Wow I feel like I have written an epistle, sorry for the long email. But I know that this church is true and I know that if we have faith in Jesus Christ all things are possible. I know that my redeemer lives.

Love you guys, I´m looking forward to talk to you next week,
