Lovely Lima

Hola Familia!

This week I got a big surprise, I have a new companion! His name is Elder Palomino and he is from Huanoco Peru. I was not expecting Elder Mendoza to go, but I got a chance this week to see some of the missionaries I know from the CCM and the same happened to them! But Elder Palomino is awesome, he has been out for 20 months already and this is most likely going to be his last area. We are working hard this week and so far have been able to meet two families to teach! And one of them are married, which is not very common in Peru so that´s awesome. The husband is also learning English so we are literally teaching him in Spanglish it´s a little strange but kind of cool too!

We´ve met and gotten back in contact with a bunch of people this week, including Anthony, he´s YSA age and single who came to church all on his own! We didn´t invite him or anything, he had been receiving discussions in another area of Lima and recently moved here and referred himself through Mormon.org, we´re going to see him this week we´re super pumped.

This week I was thinking about obedience and repentance. We find a lot of people here in our area that are living together but not married, and it makes me sad because there is so much happiness that resides in having a eternal family and being sealed together in the temple of the Lord. The Lord wants to bless us, but cannot do that if we continue to wander in mists of darkness. If we trust in the Lord and strive to do his will I know that we will be able to overcome any challenge. Estoy agradecido para tener una familia eterna.
