This Week at the CCM
Hola Familia!
Things are going really good here at the CCM! We're slowly learning more Spanish, we're committed to speaking only Espanol in class, it's getting better.
On a sadder note, there was an 8.1 magnitude earthquake in Southern Mexico this last week, we're all good here but we had the first councelor of the area presidency of Mexico come for our devotional this Tuesday and he told us the damage was pretty extensive. But there have been so many miracles as well, he shared the story of one young woman who felt peace even in the chaos of the earthquake.
Yesterday marks our last two weeks in the MTC, that's kind of crazy. I feel like the days are going by faster, before I know it I'll be emailing from Peru. I've also realized that I may be the only Canadian here at the CCM, so I'm looking forward to seeing Hermana Dennehy in the mission. I also met a Hermana who knew Kito Manning! That was pretty cool, although I can't remember her name.
This week Presidente Bennett came and talked with our district, he told us it's pretty rare to have a district of 12 Elders all going to the same mission. He said we have the potential to change our mission, he encouraged us to work hard to the end of our time here at the CCM. This Sunday we listened to an old devotional talk from Elder Holland where he talked about what kind of missionaries we need to be in this day of Preach My Gospel. He talked about Peter the apostle of the Saviour and how he changed when he heeded the Saviours call to feed my sheep, and that the call to feed his sheep is not only for two years. It is forever, we can´t go back. I know that when we love the Lord we will have a desire to serve others, I have that desire and I´m so glad to be able to bring a message of happiness to the people of Peru.
Yo se que Cristo es mi Salvador, y yo estoy muy agradecido ser un represantante de el. Todos pueden encontrar esperanza en el Evangelio. Yo se que es verdadero.
Love you!
