1st MTC Email!
¡Hola Familia!
This week has been so long it feels like a lot longer than a week, the CCM here is amazing - like Dad said, it used to be a high school but was converted into an MTC back in 2013 so theres a cafeteria here and classes that are basically high school classes.
My companions name is Elder Calhoon, he´s from Wichita Falls Texas and is going to the same mission as I am - my whole district is actually! I´m learning to love my companion and teach with him - he´s a great Elder.
We are super busy here at the CCM, it´s true that they want you to start speaking Spanish right away. Our teacher actually only speaks Spanish - she is learning English so it was a little bit of trial by fire. But the gift of tongues is very real, I am progressing in learning the language and I know I could not have done that on my own.
Having french I learned is actually super helpful and not at the same time, sometimes when I´m trying to speak Spanish and I don´´t know a word i´ll fill in with french words.
There is also a really strong spirit here at the CCM. Having all these missionaries here for the same purpose definitely has a power in it. Our district here supports each other, we´re headed to the temple today.
Yo se que el Evangelio es verdadero y que la objectivo misionero es de Dios. El Espiritu es aqui en el CCM. Dios me llamo a venir en una mision.
I am striving to have the spirit to be with me always, and I know it´s possible through faith Jesus Christ and his atonement, repentance and the renewal of our baptismal covenants.
I love you guys!
And another thing about Mexico City is there´s always weird noises - like in Priesthood meeting on Sunday there was a bunch of fireworks going off - this is like at noon.
